We also sang, danced, & listened to various genres of Music together. When I started asking questions she & her Mom [Grandma P.] became my 1st Music teachers. I would practice for hours. Friends started coming over to my mini-concerts & some became my 1st Music students. I was totally hooked!!!!!! I began taking Violin, Voice, Clarinet, Ballet, En Pointe, Tap, Modern, Contemporary, Ballroom, Conducting, Recorders, Orff Instruments, Percussion, Handbells, Bell Tree, American Sign Language, Creative Signing, etc… I am still adding to my list, the Harp is my next dream instrument to learn. I taught Music for 42 years in mostly public schools [Dade & Broward Counties in Florida, then in Los Angeles, California, & finally back to Sarasota, Florida] before I retired at the young age of 62. While teaching, I was certified All Grades/All Subjects in Florida & California. I still teach, coach, mentor, & tutor. I have performed solos, duets, trios, quartets, & octets at numerous Churches & with various ensembles/groups, in Hialeah, Miami, Miami Beach, North Miami Beach, Miami Springs, Coral Gables, Ft. Lauderdale, Lauderhill, Sunrise, Los Angeles, Bradenton, Anna Maria Island, & Sarasota. I now perform in Tennessee. I have served as an Assistant Music Director, Associate Music Director, Music Director, Music Librarian - Choral & Instrumental, Choral Music Administrator, member of several Board Of Directors, member of Artistic Director’s Music Selection Committee, Script Writer for Programs/Concerts, Mistress of Ceremonies, Teaching Packet Writer, Concert Mistress, Music Specialist, Multi-Cultural Specialist, Specialists’ Team Leader, Section Leader for Soprano 1, Soprano 2, & Alto 1, Leader of Creative Signers, Head of Christian Education, Sunday School Teacher, on Congregational Councils, Ruling/Commissioned Elder, Tutor in English, Reading, Mathematics, American Sign Language, etc. Want to know more?
